The birds are tweeting in Indiana and quite a few of them have managed
to make a home up in the eaves of the house. This will be a late
summer project as there is still too much going on to deal with the
birds at the moment.
PS: I never did get to the birds......oh well, there is always
next year!

The Clean up and repair
This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath house with a detached double garage, one
side for a car and the other side a workshop. The back yard is fenced
and there is a deck directly behind the house. It was on the market for
$25K. I bid $21K on it and they came back with $22K. This
was all done on the internet so I had never actually seen the house when
I bought it.
The first day I arrived at the house, I had to break my way into the
garage as it was pad locked and no one seemed to have a key, not even
the realtor
The entire house was in need of cleaning and paint but for the most
part it was livable. There was quite a bit of mold in the master bedroom
and I had to remove a section of drywall under the window where water
had leaked over the years and caused the damage.
They had a large above ground pool out in the back and there was a
raised deck in order to access the pool. The pool had long been
removed so I decided to take the raised portion of deck down. The
wood is quite weathered from lack of paint but maybe this summer I will
be able to get a few coats of paint on it and hopefully make it
look much better than it does right now.
The pictures to your left are pretty much what the place looked like
the day I moved in. I was very surprised to see that there were
only two grounded electrical outlets in the entire house, both in the
kitchen. One of my very first tasks was to install a grounded
outlet for the computer.
