Wednesday Night at the Elephant and Castle

Due to some unfortunate incidents, I arrived in Surrey a bit later than anticipated.  It could have been a part of one of those Firestone recall tires that came up from the road and hit the rental car and dented the right front fender and cracked the bumper.  In any event, that coupled with the wait at the border and late flights allowed just enough time to get ready for dinner.

I met up with the Surrey Group at the Sheraton Hotel and we all walked over to a place called the Elephant and Castle at about 6:30 pm.

Left to right ... Judie, Tamara (WOW), Hedy, Scotty, Charyl, M&M, Colleen, and CF.

The food in Canada is Guid.  I had some bread pudding for dessert (pronounced brrrid puddin.......as only Hedy can say it.  My Mither used to make this and it brought back some fond memories of her scurrying about the kitchen.  We ate and laughed till our tummies were full and our hearts were overflowing with the camaraderie that surrounded all of us.

After the dinner, we all headed back to the Sheraton.  I hitched a ride with Hedy in her "Brand New Blue PT Cruiser" ........it was raining and she said it was only a light mist but for us Californians, it was a torrential downpour
